A Weekend in Port St. Joe & Cape San Blas: Our Favorite Slow Coastal Escape
When we need a quick and easy weekend away, our go-to is always Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas. It’s just over an hour from home, but it feels like we’ve truly unplugged.
(And if you’re looking for a similar vibe, Apalachicola is just a bit farther and equally charming.)
We’ve stayed in everything from Airbnbs to RV campsites. Truthfully, there isn’t a ton to do here… and that’s the point. It’s slow, quiet, and simple.
Boating there is always a good idea. If you don’t own one, there are local charters available.
One of our favorite traditions is going scalloping on opening day with friends. If you’ve never tried it, put it on your family’s bucket list. It’s such a fun, memorable experience.
Where We Love to Eat:
Joe Mama’s (incredible pizza)
Provisions (downtown St. Joe — cozy + casual)
The White Marlin (upscale waterfront dining with a view)
